I woke up from a vaguely unsettling dream that had several of elements that are quite unusual (possibly unique) for my dreams.
In the dream, I was asleep and was slowly brought awake by feeling something on my foot. When I woke up (still in the dream), I discovered that Edgar (small parrot once co-owned with hrafn) was in my room, nibbling on my foot.
The dream evolved into something with a political theme.
My maternal grandfather was in the dream.
Condoleezza Rice was in the dream.
An idea that I had in the dream was the Book of Infamy, where one could record all of the dates about which someone has ever said "Never forget." These would include December 7 (whence the name of the book), September 11, July 7, etc. Could one fill a whole year with this? Could one at least come up with a decent holiday schedule? (I have often thought that it would be nice to celebrate a set of holidays that aren't the usual ones, especially since so many of the usual ones are connected to a religion. So, a set of a dozen or so days that one could celebrate throughout the year. I've sometimes thought it should be birthdays of people I value highly, mostly scientists. I've never been motivated enough to actually come up with a set.) Can anyone think of other dates that should be included? I suppose August 6. Need some good spring days to make a decent holiday schedule.
