I planned my route this morning to go by the CVS, since I need some new batteries for my Wiimotes, but it was closed when I got there. I think it's open 24 hours, so it was kind of weird that it was closed. There were several people, including an employee, standing outside.
I decided to bring my watch with me so I could start getting an idea of how fast I'm likely to run on Saturday. I did this run in 26:07, which is about a 10:27 mile, which would mean a 5K in about 32:32. I think it's not unreasonable to shoot for 30 minutes, especially considering that, a year ago, I ran 3.5 miles in 31:26, which is an 8:59 pace. I'd had around the same amount of preparation then as I will for this race. Wouldn't it be nice to run a race when I've actually been running regularly for a few months? If I can manage to keep doing these runs in the morning before work, I hope to be able to do that at some point.
Speaking of work, time to head off there.
