SIGGRAPH was awesome for a number of reasons. I always like interacting with our customers, so that was fun, although I didn't do all that much of that. I spent most of my time talking with various authors and whatnot. A lot of interesting new projects coming up. And our party at the Old South Meeting House was a big success.
I saw a press release saying that the attendance was just under 20,000. That's pretty low compared to last year's 30,000 in Los Angeles. I hope they didn't lose money on the conference. I also hope that they get some people next year in San Diego who went to SIGGRAPH for the first time in Boston, so that they see it was valuable to have SIGGRAPH here. There were some down sides to having SIGGRAPH be local, but I think the up sides outweighed them.
