Beard
So, I've gotten one compliment at work today on my beard (out of the two people who have seen me). I wonder if I really do look nice all cleaned up, or if it's just nice in comparison to the grizzly beard I had.

I tried shaving again on Sunday, so that certain people could see it completely shaven, and I discovered that shaving really hurts. Either that or I'm just not doing it right, which could very well be the case. It's not so much of a hassle to shave every day, I think, but it just hurts way too much to do it. Doesn't hurt with my electric razor, but I think I need to get a new blade for that, plus the shave just isn't as close as with a regular blade. Anyone have shaving tips for me? Does my face just need to get used to the abuse?

I'm looking forward to seeing you short-haired and beardless (though I very much liked the way the beard looked) and with new glasses. I do recall how you looked long-haired and beardless--cute (and awfully young).

I probably look younger with short hair and beardless. I'll see you at the Diesel tomorrow.

My understanding is a non-crappy electric razor will indeed do a close shave if well-maintained. You're supposed to replace the blades every 6 months and the screen every year (or maybe it's the other way around). You're also supposed to brush the hairdust out of the blades once in a while. Someone at Gilette CS could probably give you the spiel. :-)

I find that a really steamy environment helps condition the face better for a quality blade shave. Therefor, I don't shave over a sink, but in the shower. I also find that the gel-type shaving products are far superior to the foam-type ones. In reality, however, I just use soap. Type shaving at the end of a steamy shower, you might find better results.
