Afternoon diversion
The Booze Book

Flipping through this reminded me that I want to make a virgin Bloody Mary (without using a mix) and see how it turns out, since the Bloody Mary mix I had on my last airplane trip (as well as the sip of my sister's Bloody Mary at my grandparents' anniversary dinner) was pretty decent. Maybe I'll make some interesting drinks for my party. I spent some time today chatting with magid about food ideas for the party. I'm pretty excited about the food and stuff. I hope I'm not being overly ambitious.

I like the Bloody Mary mix the airlines serve as well. A lot of people think this is gross, but I think it goes particularly well with ginger ale. I just don't like bloody maries, though.

I could see that. Of course, I'm known for liking weird combinations.

In that case, would you mind making a Virgin Mary or Bloody Mary with Cel-Ray soda and telling me how it comes out? I've been curious about that for years.

Sure thing (assuming I can find the soda around here).

(And a nudge about this when it gets closer to the party (and I post about it again) wouldn't be out of order.)

It's my I-don't-have-a-roommate party. A little bit delayed (I forget when the roommate moved out. April?)
