Saw Waking Life yesterday in Harvard Square with a small group of people. It was a lot of fun. A couple of the people said that it dragged a bit for them in the middle but then got more interesting in the end. I actually found it interesting all the way through. It was filmed with a normal camera, and then it was turned into an animation from that, which makes for some really neat stuff, plus the opportunity to embellish, which was cool. I'd like to see more stuff done in that style, I think, although maybe it only fit because of exactly what this movie was.

Went to Burdick's for some hot chocolate afterwards. It was my first time at Burdick's (well, I had ducked in there just to see it once a little while ago). Yum yum yummy. Oh, and I had dinner at Bartley's, a hamburger joint. Both Burdick's and Bartley's were in the Phoenix's Best Of issue recently. I've been told I might be dragged to a bunch of the Best Of restaurants, and I don't think I'll complain.

Made pancakes for breakfast today. They kept turning out burnt until I figured out not to keep putting butter in the skillet after each one. I made the pancakes for someone who had always done them from a box before, and she seemed appreciative that I made them from scratch. We had those with mango sauce (mmm) and she microwaved some bacon (mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm) and made some tea. A very nice breakfast. I'm really going to have to get some bacon; I don't have it nearly often enough.

Spent a beautiful morning at DeCordova yesterday, first wandering around the sculpture park and then checking out the monster exhibit there, which I definitely recommend. Spent a goodly amount of time doing some heavy talking on the roof, overlooking the pond. It wasn't happy fun fun talking, but it was worthwhile.

I'm not sure what all I want to put down here, since I know my audience has grown a bit. I guess I'll just end this. At some point, maybe I'll forget that I have an audience and be a little more comfortable putting my own stuff up here. Of course, one of the other things stopping me right now is that my own stuff happens to greatly intersect with some other people's stuff, which they wouldn't necessarily like put up on the web.
