I'm sure certain people will be happy to know that I called and made a doctor's appointment. And they do evenings! Monday at 5:45.

i must admit to curiosity as to the final impetus for this radical step....
Now I'm really curious, too.. Is there actually something wrong with you?

Not sure what the final impetus was. I guess mostly it was that I had my car stuff mostly settled (hopefully), and next week would be an okay time to take a personal day to get this looked at. Luckily, since they do evenings, I don't have to take a personal day, so that's a bonus.
As far as what's wrong: I've a ticklish thing in my throat for about 3 weeks now. About a week or so ago, I actually thought to look inside my throat, and it turns out that my tonsils are swollen, the right one so much so that it is touching my uvula, which is what is causing the ticklish sensation. This is something simiar to what I feel when I have cat allergies, and I've always described it as feeling like I've had a hair in my throat. I wonder if it's always been my tonsils swelling up. Ugh, I hope I don't have to get my tonsils out. The idea of surgery is not very appealing.

Nooooooo! Not _THAT_ picture! Make it stop!
(We now return you to serious comments.)
Whether you have your tonsils out or not, you should skip away for a dayand come back not talking for a week. You'll be inundated with ice cream!

Heh. It would be a good excuse not to have to talk to certain people in the office, too.
