One year coming up
in a little over a month, I will have been at this job for a year. I looked back at my journal entry talking about my first day. I noted a few differences:

  • I had a car then.
  • I didn't know about the connection from the Orange Line at Downtown Crossing to the Green Line at Park Street.

How weird those differences seem to me now. And how weird me-a-year-ago would have found the fact of not owning a car.

Which reminds that I've been meaning to ask if there's a particular reason you do the Orange/Green Line thing instead of just staying on Orange Line to Back Bay station and walking from there (it's not quite as close as Arlington, but it is very close--did you know that?)

Yeah, I've done the Back Bay thing a few times. It didn't save me any time, and I just like the connection from the Orange Line to the Green Line. Also, gettign off at Downtown Crossing gives me the option of taking a little more time and walking from Park Street, and I don't have to decide that until after I get off the train.
