The math books that I work with have all sorts of interesting pictures to go along with various applications and exercises. When something catches my eye, I'll spend some time looking at it and possibly looking it up. That's how I found Dale Chihuly's Web site.

I've long been a fan of Dale Chihuly's work. He's is an amazing artist who, in my mind, refuses to accept what are trditionally thought of as "limits" to his medium and is ever pushing the envelope. Amazing, still, is that he only has one eye.

Another interesting tidbit about him is that he aparently has this amazing after-school arts program for inner-city disadvantaged youths that produces some really astounding art. It's also done wonders for the academic performance of its participants.

I wonder when he sleeps.
