Last week, I sent an email to the editorial director, the person who hired me, expressing an interest in a permanent position if one became available. Although I don't remember specifically, I think I had made it pretty clear that I wasn't looking for a permanent job when I first came here back in September for a 5-month contract. I really enjoy what I'm doing now. I find it interesting and challenging and varied.
This morning, I got an email from the editorial director saying she'd like to discuss this with me. So it looks like we're going to meet this afternoon. It could be that it's just going to be "Sorry, but we don't have any permanent positions available," and she just wanted to do that in person, possibly discussing lengthening my contract, which currently ends at the end of July. But I'm hoping it's either "Yes we have a position available, would you like to be considered for it?" or "We will have a position avaialable soon, would you like to be considered for it when your contract is up?"
