Dinner success
So, I made blackened talapia, and I didn't fill the house with deadly smoke. I followed a recipe for the seasoning, which turned out to be a bit too salty. Next time, I'll cut the salt down by at least half. Otherwise, it was really good. And the barley salad turned out okay, although it was a bit heavy on the olive taste. hrafn made chocolate chip banana bread for dessert. She made two loaves, one with spelt flour and one with whole wheat flour. The general consensus was that the one made with wheat flour was more like normal banana bread, but the spelt one was declared the winner in taste. The spelt one was also made with Sucanat, an unprocessed cane sugar, instead of regular sugar.
