From a stupid email about a "virtual march on Washington":

With your help, every Senate office switchboard will be lit up all
day with our antiwar messages. This will be a powerful reminder
of the bread and depth of opposition to a war in Iraq.

I didn't realize that wheat products were anti-war. Makes me feel even better about not eating bread.

"The Bread of Opposition" -- sounds like some sort of competitor for Food Not Bombs. Someone should set it up, then the two organizations could duke it out, engaging in a strident battle over the limited supply of needy mouths, busy volunteers, and featured spots on NPR, until, after a bloody, long-fought campaign, the stronger emerges victorious, and the weaker is left broken on the pavement to die alone, unloved....

Heh. That's almost as funny as your idea of collecting trash cans and chairs from your neighbors saving parking spots and having a yard sale in the spring to sell them back.
