balaclava

(no subject)

My internet connectivity had been down since Saturday morning (after my last post). I kept trying on Sunday evening, and I found a couple of small pockets of connectivity, but mostly not. Yesterday I went into work twice so that I could check email and whatnot. Just now, I decided enough was enough, and I went downstairs and fixed it. The neighbors have been gone, so I figured power-cycling the router might do something. That didn't do anything, but just turning on their computer and then turning it off again did, so that's good.

I've gotten some cleaning and shopping done, which is good. Makes it more likely I'll do some packing. Last night for dinner I made a salad with red leaf lettuce, green onions, and avocado, dressed with lemon juice, lime juice, olive oil, salt, and garlic. The lemon juice and lime juice was just a little from the lemons and limes I juiced. The rest got turned into lymonade (I've decided to co-opt Sprite's invented word so that I don't have to mess with hyphens), which I haven't had yet since I was waiting for it to chill. For dessert, I had a smoothie made from strawberries, kiwis, vanilla soy milk, and some strawberry and kiwi sorbet.

I think I'll have some of the lymonade now.

The Real Problem

Connectivity went out again, and this time turning their computer on and then off again didn't do anything. And then I remembered something else I had done: I'd picked up their phone. They have DSL, and I know from my own experience with DSL that sometimes the phone line gets messed up. And lo, that worked. I wonder how many times I'm going to have to do that. There seems to be a lot of static on their line.

(And it just went out again as I was spellchecking this post. I just hope they don't come home when I go down there to fix it again. I assume they're not coming home today, and at least I have an excuse to be down there while I'm doing my laundry.)

Role-playing Books

I have the following older role-playing books that I'm going to get rid of. Does anyone reading this want them? I'd like to get rid of all of them at once, and you'd have to come pick them up in Wellesley. Preference to someone who can get them this week. If I don't get any bites here, I'll probably post them to bostongamers and see if anyone there wants them (and maybe get a little money for them).
