I'm taking next week off. We already have Monday and Tuesday off, so I figured this would be a good time to take a few days. I'll probably be doing a lot of packing, as my mom is coming into town in a little over a week and will be helping me do some moving. If she ends up bringing my uncle's truck, then I might see about moving some of the bigger stuff (assuming it's not raining).

Telecommuting Part-Time Editorial Job

The Annals of Improbable Research, a bimonthly science-humor magazine, seeks a part-time editorial assistant. This person will help do formatting, proofreading, and layout, and help manage editorial flow for the magazine, the website www.improbable.com, and for publications related to the annual Ig Nobel Prize ceremony.

The position is for 10 hours a week. Pay is $20 an hour.

The ideal candidate is mature, detail- and deadline-oriented, reliable, and a good communicator. We use Word, InDesign, Photoshop, and WordPress blogging software, but no experience with these applications is necessary. Reliability, initiative, and organizational skills are our top priority. A sense of humor helps, too.

This would be an excellent job for a retiree, stay-at-home parent, or graduate student. The hours are flexible and most work can be done from home.

Please send resume and cover letter/e-mail to the e-mail address listed above. No calls, please.
It sounds like there would be at least a little going into the office, so probably not good for out-of-town folks.
