balaclava

(no subject)

For this conference and for the previous conference, my marketing director booked the room with the corporate AmEx that's in her name. At the Marriott I stayed at for the last conference, they were happy to put the room on that card, even though I didn't have it for them to swipe. At the Hilton I stayed at for this conference, they wanted a card to swipe, and they needed an authorization form filled out and faxed to them (including front and back of the card, plus a picture ID).

Anyone know which of these practices is more common?
In other news, my mother now has an nsa.gov email address.
