The authors whose first language is German seem to be the ones to come up with these great English words that I've never heard of. Today's word: circumstantiate. Close enough to "substantiate" that I decided to make the switch.
I'm taking the week after Thanksgiving off. I have vacation time, and I want to use it, and that's as good a time as any. Also, there will be some special visitors in town then. That might also be an appropriate time to have a housewarming at my new place. Would people come out to Wellesley on a weeknight? (Huh. I just looked up "weeknight", and it appears to actually mean Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday nights. I think I've always used it to be synonymous with "school night", being Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday night. So, when I say "weeknight", please assume that I mean "school night".) I'm not sure that the special visitors' schedule will allow them to make it on the weekend, but I guess I can check.
