Um, wow. So, I'm actually part of the interview process. On Friday, A told me that she wanted me around for the interviews. Um, OK. Yesterday, I asked her exactly what she wanted me to do with this. So, I'm actually talking to people, letting them know about the job, trying to get a sense of how they might fit in here. Like, I'm actually interviewing people. Totally bizarre. Not something I've done before, and certainly not something I thought I'd be doing.

One down, three to go (one more today and two on Thursday).

Assuming everyone we interview actually ends up being interested in the job, I have a feeling this is going to be a very touch decision, especially since the candidates all seem to have very different sets of experience and skills.

"Don't trust too long."

Fragment from a dream. I don't really have time to talk about the dream itself right now, and I wonder if I'll regret that at some later point. In any case, I'm thinking that "Don't trust too long" wants to be a poem or a song, so I wanted to record it.

The Pea and the Sun: A Mathematical Paradox

A book we published in April, The Pea and the Sun: A Mathematical Paradox, is currently fluctuating around the 200-300 range for its Amazon sales rank. I believe that's pretty unprecedented for a book of ours. Amazon did a direct marketing thing for it for people who bought a similar book, so I imagine that's the cause. I would imagine we're going to start talking about reprinting it.

And, yes, if you haven't been able to tell, my life is pretty focused around my job right now, and I'm actually quite content with that. It's a stupendously superific job.
