Lime Sugar Cookies

I had some lime sugar cookies when I was at Fenway the last time. I wanted to try them for myself, so I took the Betty Crocker sugar cookie recipe and added the juice from one lime. The result: I can't really tell there's any lime in there. So, next time, I'm going for 2 limes, possibly with a little lime zest.

It would also be nice if I could get the cookies soft and chewy like the ones I had at Fenway. Unfortunately, I'd probably have to add all sorts of chemicals to get them that way.

The terrorists have won

The terrorists made me forget my badge for work. See, I switched bags to something slightly smaller, hoping for less chance of getting hassled on the T. I transferred the essentials over. Except I forgot to transfer my badge, and I didn't realize this until I was already on the bus.

It wasn't that big of a deal, though. I signed in (I gave my name, and the computer came up with a picture of me), and then I got an escort up to my floor. The guy who escorted me up said, "This isn't a good week to forget anything." Yes, I decided to forget my badge this week in order to most inconvenience you. Schmuck.

Speaking of hassle, there was none. I saw a few MBTA cops (with terror-preventing "TRANSIT POLICE" logo on the back of the uniform). And the gate at Sullivan was open, and they were letting people in there who had cash. Otherwise, nothing unusual. And no traffic, either, which was nice. If today's commute ends up being bad, though, I imagine some people will be coming in earlier. I wonder, though, just how many people have decided to take the week off or work from home. Might be enough to make a noticeable difference in the number of people riding the T. That would be nice.

Of course, it's early enough that I'm afraid to go to the bathroom. I don't think I'll have a choice pretty soon, though. But maybe the crazy people don't come in Sunday night. One can hope.

I woke up quite a bit last night. I don't know if it was knowing that I was going to get up at 5 or the pizza and caffeinated soda I had for dinner. I would wake up, go to the bathroom, and get a drink, something like once an hour. For once it was cool enough, and I still couldn't get a good night's sleep. Of course, it might also have something to do with staying up until almost 4 Saturday morning, then sleeping in until 10, then taking a nap from 4:30 to 7:30 in the evening.

I really should get on a consistent sleep schedule. Getting up early for work this week isn't helping, though. I ended up getting up at 4:30 this morning, since I knew I wasn't going to sleep any more (having woken up at 4). And I decided that I would have time to make cookies, so it all worked out fine.

Maybe I can use the three weeks off from gaming next month as a testing time to see how I feel with going to bed at an early, consistent time every night. I can be in bed by 10, lights out by 10:30 every night, I think. Then get up when I feel like getting up. We'll see.
