So, hrafn made me think of a neat idea. Anyone want to contribute body parts to the chimera? Might be a fun project to make one whole person out of a dozen people or so. Maybe we could add to it in order. So, anyone have a nice torso pic to go with the top of head and bottom of head?

(no subject)

Bush went on to describe the contracts as a reward for risk: "Make sure everybody understands that men and women from our country, who proudly wear our uniform, risked their life to free Iraq," he said. "Men and women from other countries in a broad coalition risked their lives to free Iraq. And the expenditure of U.S. dollars will reflect the fact that U.S. troops and other troops risked their life."

Sounds a lot like he's saying that we risked the lives of American people so that we could get paid.

Strange Horizons is closed for fiction submissions until January 1st. Since I did have a resolution to submit a story for publication, I have decided that I'm going to write a story and submit it to Strange Horizons. It will not be a great story. It will not be accepted for publication. But I will have written and submitted something. It may be the only thing I ever submit, but I'll at least have done it once. I have an idea, and I just wrote up a very loose plot synopsis. I'll let it stew in my brain for a while, then I'll write a revised loose plot synopsis. Then I'll let it stew some more and write a more detailed plot synopsis. Then I'll just start writing and see how it goes. Okay, I'm sure the process won't go like that. I have no idea how it will go, since I'm really not a writer. I don't sit down and write things that take longer than an hour to write. We'll see. We'll see. We'll see.

A quick review of my resolutions reveals that I can only really claim to have made any progress on one of them. This story thing will be a second one. I don't think I'll be making any more resolutions this year (or ever), but the list is still a good one. Maybe I should make a list of things I want to accomplish that doesn't have any time frame associated with it. We'll see.

I say that too much. Why do I always say "we'll see"? It's because I'm never sure how the future will turn out, since I always just act based on what I feel on the time, which doesn't necessarily mesh with anything that I've planned in the past.

Stomach was a bit acidy last night, and it has been acidy today, too (although it wasn't this morning. I wonder if the Nutty Nuggets weren't necessarily the best food for breakfast, since I've noticed acidy stomach later in the morning after eating them on occasion. Of course, I'm eating them every morning for breakfast, so it's probably just that they aggravate something that's already there). I hope I can enjoy the company party today. I'm also going to be paying up on my bet with theora, so we're meeting at Finale after my party. I hope I'm able to eat dessert.

I've done very little work today, but I have done some. I'll probably do a bit more before leaving for the party.
