The quest for sleep

I watched History Detectives, which was okay, but it kind of had that "This Old House" feel to it. I much prefer the more dramatic narrative style. Oh well. I read some and did email and such, then I got into bed and started watching Diagnosis Murder. Got a phone call, so ended up being onthe phone until close to 11. Then I couldn't get to sleep, since my brain was busy. Ended up watching Simpsons, then going to sleep. Got up at 7. Still, with the nap, I feel pretty close to rested. The plan is to do some dishes and laundry tonight, then get to bed early. Up tomorrow morning for our court date. Here's hoping it goes smoothly.

Started Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep last night. Realized that I had gotten Blade Runner confused with Freejack (someone had mentioned Blade Runner, and I said "Yeah, the one with Mick Jagger." They have similar feels, and I think I'd like to see both of them again. It's been a long time since I've seen Blade Runner). I'm enjoying the book a lot. This is my second Philip K. Dick book, written 5 years after the last one I read was. I can tell a difference in the style.

There was a voicemail waiting for me when I got in. Someone wants me and some other people to work on some kind of rush job today. Yay! It's not proofreading, but at least there's a deadlne of today, which is nice. Some sort of research into what we have in the way of certain things in our ancillaries or something. I'll find out in 40 minutes.

After my 20-minute meeting to get an idea of what I'm doing today, I'm tired. And my stomach is a bit weird. Blah. And this assignmnet, while better than what I would have been doing today, is . . . umm . . . I don't think "vague" is the right word, but I suppose you'll know what I mean when I say that. Eh. Anyway.
