Productive morning

Not only did I convince myself to get up and go running, I cooked some salmon this morning that I had taken out of the freezer on Saturday. I didn't cook it Saturday because I had an unexpected meal, so I figure I'll have it for lunch or dinner tomorrow.

Brought leftover pasta with squash for lunch, along with leftover cookies and leftover garlic bread. Should have plenty. And I really hope to finish this yucky project today so I can get back to fun stuff.

When zzbottom looked at the track I run on yesterday, he said that it was more than a quarter of a mile. I tried looking online, but I couldn't find anything about it on the city's Web site. Anyway, it looks like my 5 laps have been more than 1.25 miles. Maybe 1.5? Maybe slightly more? That would be cool. I should probably try to measure it some time.

I've only got one more exercise to write for this test, but I'm having a hard time coming up with something. It has to fit a particular standard. So, I took a walk around the office, then read a story in Strange Horizons. The story was kind of cool but didn't quite do it for me. The mood and the idea were nice, but I guess I like the narrative to make more sense. I know the point of the story was that the narrative didn't really make sense, but, still.

No closer to coming up with the new exercise. I may just correlate the standard to a different exercise and be done with it. I hesitate to do it, since it doesn't fit very well, but I was told that we could stretch these a lot. So, yeah, I think I'm going to do that.

I like having an audience for my typing; it helps me think. It's almost as good as talking. Maybe a little better for some purposes, since there isn't going to be any immediate feedback, so I can work through things I need to work through. Etc. I don't know why I just typed that. I'd better end this before it starts getting silly.

My legs are mostly fine today, so it seems that the day of mostly rest helped.

Now the tops of my shoulders and the sides of my upper arms are sore. Completely symmetrical, so it has to be from running (since I don't think I've done any other physical activity recently), but it's weird because I've never had any soreness like this from running before (I was on the cross country team in high school and I ran a little in college per ROTC requirements). I need to remember to ask for a massage at role playing tonight.
