Gaming was pretty uneventful for my character. I took a phone call for a couple of minutes near the end, and that was it. I keep forgetting that hrafn has cable, so, before gaming, I watched Knight Rider. It's been a long time since I've seen Knight Rider. PRetty hokey, but chock-full of nostalgia. And, during gaming, dannarra turned on Stargate SG-1. I'd seen bits of it before, I think, but I actually watched the full last half of an episode last ngiht. I came to the conclusion that it's a pretty good show. Not that I'll get to watch it on TV, since I'm busy on Monday nights and I don't have cable anyway; however, dannarra did offer to lend the first season on DVD. I told her I'm interested, so I might end up watching a bunch of Stargate SG-1 some weekend. I think I want to start it off with the movie, since it's been a while since I've seen that.

I started reading a French book. I have three beginning French textbooks at the house, so I picked the one that looked the newest. It was the one that hrafn used for the French class she took last year. It turns out that it is also the one that is published in my building, so that's pretty cool. I'm finding it really well done, much better than I remember my French textbooks in high school being. It's a slow introduction, so most things aren't new, but I'm slowly moving back into French mode, so that's good. And I really like the essays on culture at the beginning of each lesson. So, this has become my new commuting book. I haven't finished The Gospel According to the Simpsons, but I've finished the interesting parts of it. The only two chapters I have left are one on the creators of the show and one that is a conclusion. Neither interests me much, so I may not end up finishing the book at all. Definitely a good read, though, and I really do recommend it for Simpsons fans.

Don't feel much like working. I guess I can really tell the difference between work I really enjoy and work I don't really care for. When I was actually checking the links and finding new ones, I worked a full day (once even 10 hours) without much break, and I didn't notice the time. Now, when I'm having to do up the report, I'm finding it hard to do it, and the time is passing much more slowly. And, really, it's not going to take me much time to finish up these last little bits of the report, but it's just so hard to motivate myself to do it.

I think part of it might be how well-defined the task is. When a task is very well-defined, I can whip through it. When I have to decide how to do things (like how best to organize this report), it drags and drags. Anyway, I really should get to doing this. So I'm just going to do it and not worry too much about the format. If people aren't happy with it, thry can let me know.

My supervisor just called, and we're going to meet to discuss some things at 1 today instead of at 11, as originally planned. That gives me tie to finish up the report before I meet with him. The report isn't necessary for the meeting, but it gives me a deadline, which in itself provides motivation. Yes, it's a self-imposed deadline, but I can be good about tricking myself like that. So, I will get this report done by 1.

12 hours ago, I was till up, watching a Nova show about supernovae and the question of whether the universe is accelerating.

That time of year

I haven't thought about it for months and months, but something on my friendsfriends page suddenly made me think about it.

Tomorrow marks nine years since my brother died.

I thought I would have more to say, but I just don't at the moment.

There's going to be a Knight Rider movie, but it's going to be an action comedy?? And it's not going to star David Hasselhoff. That sucks.

At least the preview I saw for the new X-Men movie looks pretty good.

Today at 2 was a spelling bee at work, down on the 7th floor. The top 3 people will represent our company at some local spelling bee to benefit an adult literacy program. I put it on my calendar yesterday, and I just totally forgot about it today. Not that I thought I had a chance of winning in a building full of book people, but it would have been fun. Blah.
