Good weekend

I managed to get in a decent amount of productive stuff, even amid a decent amount of socializing.

Dinner and games Friday night.

BBQ Saturday.

Shopping and games Sunday.

Productive stuff:
Deleting or appropriately filing over 200 emails from my inbox.
Adding to my web pages.
My Jotto word program.
Getting some actual work done on the Compendium.

I actually am mostly done with the Compendium. There's a couple more things to write up, and another web page to at least start so that I can have the Compendium point at that. I figure I might get a little done today, but the bulk will get done on Thursday, which is my target date for getting this out. I'll be newly unemployed, so it should be pretty easy to get up early and start working on it a bunch.

Hmm, I haven't thought about celebrating. I guess it's something to celebrate, being done with work. I don't know of anything in particular going on Wednesday night. Maybe just a quiet evening at home. Hmm. Will have to think more about that.

Productivity

I grabbed some origami paper in order to make some cranes at work tomorrow that will eventaully (like, after I'm gone) be used for an in-house photo shoot for one of the exercises in a chapter that I worked on.

I also sent a resume to a college roommate of a friend/co-worker. The roommate works for the New England Journal of Medicine, and they're apparently looking for manuscript editors, pretty much exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for. My friend/co-worker said that she would email her college roommate about it, so maybe a personal recommendation will put me on top of a pile.

And, soon, I will start dinner for people coming over for weekly role playing, which has taken a hiatus lately. I'm making something from Cooking Italian: Main Dishes called pitaggio. It's supposed to be veal croquettes served with lima beans, peas, and artichoke hearts. I misremembered the recipe when I requested shopping for it, so it's going to be lamb croquettes instead of veal. Should still be good, I think. I made this recipe once before, something more than a year ago, since we were still living at Hanscom, then. I think that's the only thing I've ever made out of this book, but it's probably worth another look.
