I found this recipe to make for the party today. Yum. And entertaining write-up. Really, maybe I should start doing some writing about food. magid, can I borrow one of your food essay books the next time I see you?
Yes, that was it. It didn't turn out at all like the side dish I've had at Naked Fish, but I still liked it. It was too sweet for Cat, so I'm a little surprised that it wasn't too sweet for you. I'm glad you liked it. There's a decent amount left over, so I can probably bring some tomorrow, if you want.
I think I might try it again with just bananas and sweet potatoes, made more like mashed potatoes.
That's interesting. My impression of why I liked it was very much because it wasn't too sweet. Maybe it was because based on the looks of it I expected something more sweet and it was less sweet than I expected that I ended up with the "not too sweet" impression. Yeah, bring some tomorrow. I'll eat it.
Also, as far as the sweet thing goes, I tend to like sweet/savory combinations, and naturally sweet vegetables are just fine--even when a little sweetness is added (I like glazed carrots for example, except when they are too buttery.)
