The current NPR Weekend Edition Sunday Puzzle is a two-week creative challenge inspired by Ella Minnow Pea. You are supposed to come up with a pangram that includes the name of a famous person (doesn't matter if it's full name or last name or whatever, as long as they can tell whom you are talking about). Can be any length, but, all other things being equal, shorter is better. Judged on meaning, syntax, and overall elegance. I did these two just now (my first pangrams!), and I might even submit the second one. Deadline is 3:00 on Thursday. Of course, I just made it for the deadline of this month's Compendium, which should be coming out tomorrow.

(39) Above the frieze, Jesus quickly gulped waxy men.

A little shaky on meaning, but pretty funny.

(38) Jesus moved quickly to thaw a frozen grape box.

Damn, we're out of wine. Jesus, use your heat vision to thaw that box of grapes!
