Jotto puzzle
Here's a Jotto puzzle for everyone. According to my programs and the dictionary that I use, there is only one word it could possibly be. If anyone is interested in these, let me know, and I can make more. Also, if anyone feels inclined to make them up, that would be cool, too, so that I could have some of the fun of solving them. Hmm, I could probably make a program to come up with these on its own . . .
broke - 1
tonus - 1
ettle - 0
spray - 1
chomp - 2
chauk - 1
hoody - 2

Where did you find those words!?

I've gotten it down to oam or coy and the letters you didn't use (fgijqvwxz). Prolly should do some work today, so not going to finish now...

The computer made those guesses. I took my program that tries to guess your Jotto word, picked a word, and played with the program. One of the things that the program does is report how many words it has left that your word could possibly be. So, I kept playing, changing the secret word, until I found one that ended in only one word it could be, and there was no guess (except the last one) with a score higher than 2.

And you might want to revisit what you think you've got it down to . . . a quick check of those letters against the list should turn up something.

i'm down to the same coy/oam you are. only, in the COY, the c or y could be doubled, and in the OAM it could be OAMO or OAMD, and the m could be doubled.

must ponder further.

teh question is, am i going to kick myself for not seeing it, or kick you for starting this?
i forgot to point out that the a could also be doubled, and possibly the d in OMADD.

is my logic so far correct at least?

*suspicious look*

you sure it's a word we know? my results are similar (maybe the same as, but i didn't go into detail with her side list) to magid's.

-bitty, finally getting to try this out (downtime at work, had he words written out in advance, just waiting for an opportunity... do i need a life or what?)
