Phone stuff
So, I went looking at my Cingular account to see when I might be able to switch over to Verizon. I have a 24-month contract (that seems pretty outrageous, but I'm guessing it's standard), and it looks like I last changed plans in March, so it's possible the 24 months starts from there, but of course they don't have a little counter that tells you how long you have left on your current contract. I guess I could call them at some point, but I'm prety sure the earliest it would be starting from was when I got my new phone, which was possibly something like February of 2005. So, no changing over at least until February 2007, and possibly not until March 2008, unless I want to pay the $150 cancellation fee, or whatever it is, which I guess might be worth it if it's going to be March of 2008 before I'm able to cancel.

And while I was browsing, I happened to see that my last bill was huge. It's automatically deducted, so I don't pay attention to it. Apparently I got slapped with huge roaming charges when I made a number of calls in Canada, to the tune of $128. Bleh.

I got trapped in a 24 month contract too. I don't mind it as much since I like my Motorola phone and T-Mobile service. But the contract is strict, and as with you my fees get deducted automatically. It's something to pay attention to.
