I went and looked at an apartment today. Despite how much I might try to convince myself, I just don't think I could live without a bathtub. Another "problem" with the place was that I would have to figure out something for trash. Of course, since Wellesley doesn't have trash pickup, I'm going to run into this problem everywhere. At my current place, the landlords agreed to take my trash to the dump with theirs, seeing as I don't have a car.

Anyway, as I was leaving the place, the person who showed me the place told me that she had googled me and found my Jotto article. She didn't know anything about Jotto, but she thought it was cool that she could google someone and find something interesting like that. Of course, I had googled her as well and found that she works at Bose.

I'm going to be looking at a furnished one-bedroom apartment on Saturday. I'm pretty sure I don't want a furnished place, but it doesn't hurt to look, I guess.

You know, in all honesty, I know it's not the most convenient, but you could afford the apartment at my place, and also afford a car for the amount you'd be saving. Just saying.

Doesn't your landlord have dogs or something?

I really, really, really like being car-free. And it's not just the savings in money. It's also the savings in hassle.

But, yeah, I might have to consider not living within walking distance of work and getting a car.

She has a dog, yes. But the apartment has a seperate entrance and the dog is only ever in the back yard or on a leash. Is that still too close proximity?

It would probably be OK. I'm not quite ready to give up on Wellesley, though.
